Lyman Cunningham
VEAZEY
Lyman Cunningham Veazey was born in Troup County, Georgia on 29 September 1846. He was an infant when his father moved the family to Tallapoosa County, Alabama. He was reared in Tallapoosa County. Lyman enlisted in the Confederate army in 1863, and served as a member of Company A, First Alabama Regiment. Around 1870, he moved to Texas and located in Grayson County, near Van Alstyne.
He married Sallie M. Gregory of Tallapoosa County on 17 March 1874, which is recorded in Tallapoosa County. Sallie was born on 26 November 1851 in Dadeville, Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Sallie was the daughter of George Gregory. Sallie and Lyman had several children.
They are found in Grayson County, Texas on 1880 census. Also living in their house was Lyman's brother Alonzo, who died three years later in 1883.
Lyman died on 26 November 1922 and Sallie died on 02 January 1923 in Van Alstyne, Texas. They are buried in the Van Alstyne Cemetery.
