Uriah Umphress was born on 25 Oct 1865. He married Lorance Louriana Harper on 24 November 1887 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. He died on 13 August 1909 from being kicked in the head by a team of horses. He was buried in the Van Alstyne Cemetery, Van Alstyne, Texas.
