Oliver Perry SANFORD

Oliver Perry Sanford was born in Hall County, Georgia on 16 September 1833, the son of Asa Sanford and Catherine Green Hanson. He came to Tallapoosa County, Alabama around 1836 with his parents. He was a carpenter, contractor and builder. He was president of Sanford Milling and Manufacturing Company and lived near this mill. He also served two terms as county commissioner. He married  on 24 December 1857 (Book 4, Page 362) to Louisianna Berry, daughter of J. B. Berry, another early settler of Tallapoosa County.

Oliver Perry Sanford served with Company A, 1st Ga Infantry Regiment CSA.

Louisianna Berry Sanford, who was born on 5 September 1840, died on 13 January 1892 and Oliver married Emily O'Brien, daughter of Francis Bressie O'Brien, on 30 October 1892 in Tallapoosa County(Book 10, Page 338).

Oliver and Anna Sanford are buried in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa County. Emily O'Brien is buried in the Gillam Cemetery in Tallapoosa County.
