Bryant PORCH * Sarah Ann CANADA

Bryant Porch Sr. was born on 05 April 1831 in Meriwether County, Georgia. He married Sarah Ann Canada on 29 January 1852 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Sarah was born on 25 January 1838 in Tallapoosa County, the daughter of Edward J. "Ned" Canada and Snowy McBurnett. The family moved to Texas sometime after 1880, settling in Runnels and Coleman counties. There seems to have been a big migration of families from Tallapoosa County to Runnels County, Texas and they may all have come at one time- about 1884. Bryant and Sarah had twelve children. Sarah died on 29 May 1906 in Coleman County and Bryant died on 14 April 1909. They are buried in the Midway Cemetery in northwestern Coleman County, Texas.

Bryant Porch participated in the Civil War with Company H, 47th Alabama Infantry Regiment.
