William Porch was born about 1820 in Georgia, either Clarke or Meriwether County is most likely. He married in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Susan A. Canady, probably a sister of Edward J. Canida, and the marriage took place on 24 October 1842. They are found on the 1850 census in Tallapoosa County living next to Samuel GRAY, who was married to his sister, Mahala. They had no children. William's death is not known but he was alive in 1880. Susan was born on 2 March 1823 and died on 03 February 1885. She is buried in the Red Ridge Cemetery in Tallapoosa County.
It is unknown who was living with William and Susan in 1855. Note below that there was a male under 21 and also a female over 21 living with them. Information desired on who this might be.
