David Rodney
LOCKETT
David Rodney Lockett was born 25 December 1844 in Alabama. He married Mary S. Moore in Tallapoosa County on 21 January 1869. Mary was born about 1850 in Alabama. David served in the Confederate States Army in Company A, 1st Alabama Infantry Regiment, as did all of his older brothers. They had no children. According to his obituary, he had no children, but living with David and Mary in 1880 Grayson County, Texas was Kenny, age 11, listed as adopted son.
David and Mary are living in Tallapoosa County in 1870 and David's mother, Sarah, is living with them. They are in Grayson County, Texas on 1880 census.
David died on 31 May 1938 in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas. David and Mary are buried in the Friendship Methodist Church Cemetery, just west of Sherman, Texas.
