Elizabeth JORDAN
Elizabeth Jordan was born about 1817 in Georgia to Elijah and Celia Smith Jordan. The Jordan family moved from Georgia to Tallapoosa County, Alabama before Elizabeth's marriage. She married Joseph Knox on 4 October 1838 in Tallapoosa County. Joseph is thought to be a brother of Samuel Knox, who married Elizabeth Jordan's sister Sarah. Joseph was born about 1808 in South Carolina, according to census records. Elizabeth can be found living with Joseph on the 1850 census but before the 1860 census is taken, Elizabeth has passed away. Joseph is found in 1860 with a new wife, Francis Lowry. Francis was born about 1823 or 1824 in Georgia. Joseph and Francis were married on 07 August 1851 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.
Joseph and Francis are found in Walnut Hill, Jones Road, Tallapoosa County, Alabama in 1870.
Not sure of the location of the grave of Elizabeth Jordan Knox. Joseph and his family moved away before 1880, locating in Texas.
