William Jonathon
BURSON
William Jonathon Burson was born on 24 October 1833 in Campbell County, Georgia. He married Martha Humphries about 1851. Martha was born on 1 April 1831, the daughter of Joseph Benjamin Humphries and Jerusha Matilda Wood. William was a probable member of Co. B, 47th Alabama Infantry Regiment. This family was living in Clay County, Alabama in 1870. They are found living in the Chocktaw Nation, Indian Territory by 1900. They had at least seven children.
Martha died on 20 April 1908 and William died on 14 January 1911. They are buried in the Old Cache Cemetery in Haskell County, Oklahoma.
