John SMITH * Martha E. BURSON

John Smith was born on 4 July 1844, the son of William Smith and Fanny Buce. He married on 6 December 1866 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Martha E. Burson was born March 1839 in Alabama, the daughter of David Lawson Burson and Celia McInish.

Martha died in 1905 in Kiowa County, but was buried in the Rocky Cemetery, Rocky, Washita County, Oklahoma. John died on 13 May 1930 in Kiowa County, Oklahoma.

This family was enumerated in Sebastian County, Arkansas in 1870 and 1880, and in 1880, they were living alongside Martha's sister, Mary Jane Burson Mote. John is found living in Kiowa County in 1910 with new wife, Emma ???, whom he had just married.

• Addeline "Addie" Missouri SMITH, born 14 Aug 1876, married Arthur Lee Powell 1902, died 11 May 1971, buried Hobart, Oklahoma

• George Asbury SMITH, born Feb 1878, never married, died 1902of typhoid fever, buried Rocky, Oklahoma

• Jesse Allan SMITH, born Nov 1879, married Patti Irene Barney
