Jasper HOWELL

Jasper Howell was born in 1841, or 19 March 1834 according to his tombstone, the son of Joshua Howell and Mary Buce. He married Martha Elizabeth _____ in 1860.

Jasper was a member of the 47th Alabama Infantry Regiment, Company B. The muster roll for the 47th Alabama shows he was wounded at Suffolk. He was also listed as being detailed to guard divisional supply train.

Martha was born in 1842 and died on 7 August 1896. Jasper died on 22 May 1907. They are both buried in the Short Mountain Cemetery, in Cowlington, LeFlore County, Oklahoma.
