Corpusty parish sits as a twin to Saxthorpe either side of a crossing point of the river Bure, where the B road from Norwich to Holt reaches the Bure. Saxthorpe occupies the north bank, Corpusty the south but in reality they function as a single village. Corpusty as such carries the core of the settlement with shops, village green and pubs spreading west along the Bure valley.

St Peter's church sits in a remote commanding position high on hill to the south of the village. It is quite an impressive sight when viewed from afar, however as you approach closer you can see the neglect which has accompanied its redundancy. An over-grown graveyard adds to the air of melancholy. The church itself is a fairly typical example of Broadland Perpendicular with features dating back to the 14th century and a neat square tower.
