Anna Cox, her mother, was a daughter of William Cox. "Cousins have attempted to find records of the Cox family at Hull and learned they were destroyed in a fire. Bombings would have completed the loss undoubtedly."
Whitten Kidd was a merchant and brought his family to New York City. Anna Tingley often told of the trip taking months in a sailing vessel. During the trip she was at the age when she was attempting to walk but the water was so rough that she became afraid and was much longer in learning.
The George H. Tingley family lived in Brooklyn and Morrisania, a part of New York City, and finally moved to Rahway, NJ, the summer home of the Kidd family201. George and Anna, with their three deceased daughters, Georgiana, Bell, and Jennie, are buried in Hazelwood Cem. at Rahway.

06-00050-04 ANN SQUARE (NANCY) TINGLEY-KINKADE (KINCAID)7 (Ebenezer6, Ebenezer5, Ebenezer4, Samuel3, Samuel2, Palmer1), of Woodsfield and Bethel Twp., Monroe Co., OH (in 1830)70, born _______, 1800 at _______; died ca 1850-60 at _______, buried in Barber Cem. near Woodsfield, OH136; married May 12, 1826 at Woodsfield, OH, Andrew, son of David and Rebecca (Osborn) Kincaid, of Greene Co., PA, born May 12, 1802 at Greene Co., PA; died Nov. 30, 1881 near Marr, OH, 79y 6m 25d, buried in Pioneer Cem. near Marr, OH. Andrew was a farmer237.
"When a young man Andrew Kinkade left Pennsylvania and started farming near Woodsfield, Ohio. He attended the Gala Festivities accompanying the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825, at Lockport, N.Y. There he met Nancy Tingley, the charming daughter of Lemuel Tingley, a veteran of the Revolutionary War. True to the traditions of his Scotch wit, he called her Ann "for short", and she was ever after known as Ann Tingley and her brother John, a veteran of the War of 1812, left Lockport for Woodsfield, Ohio, where she and Andrew Kinkade were married May 12, 1802 [?]; she died Nov. 30, 1881. It is thought that she willingly lost herself in the Ohio wilderness and never saw her family again. But she kept in her heart the thoughts of her family by bestowing Tingley names upon three of her sons: Ebenezer, the first born, Araunah, and Benjamin Kinkade. Her grave, without a marker, is in the Barber Cemetery near Woodsfield, Ohio.
" Andrew Kinkade desired very much to possess a Kinkade homestead of considerable extent somewhere in Virginia. It's location, or to whom it originally belonged is not known to the writer. In the remembrance of C.A. Kinkade (page 124) he made a trip to Virginia to investigate the land's status; he offered each of the ten heirs $30.00 for a quit-claim. But they held out for $300.00, and he gave it up as too expensive." (page 9)136. He was one of the first settlers in Bethel Twp.236.
