Norman and Ida Wimbush outside the Bodleian Library in Oxford about 1960. Norman Wimbush was very badly facially wounded in World War and his face was rebuilt by some of the earliest plastic surgery - you can see this from the photo. In the photo he has just taken his M.A. degree. He had taken a B.A. at Oxford in the early 1900s and decided to 'upgrade' around 1960 - no study or exam necessary, just a ceremony!
