Margaret Hayden was born in New York to Edward Hayden & his wife Mary Howe about 1879; her obituary suggests that she was born July 31, 1876 -- however, her older brother James was born in 1876, so this seems unlikely. A better date is listed in the SSDI: July 31, 1879; this date is more congruent with census records and her siblings dates of birth. Margaret was raised by a single mother following the death of her father, Edward Hayden, in 1883. The family lived in Manhatten. According to family members, Margaret and her sisters lived with their brother James following the death of their mother, Mary Hayden, around 1900. Marriage to Albert Nicholas Greminger, Sr. It appears that Margaret married Albert Greminger Sr. about 1902. Albert & Margaret's family resided in New York City, Westchester County & ultimately Washington County, NY. They had at least two children, Marguerite and Albert, Jr. According to her obituary, the Greminger's may have had another daughter, Grace. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango, NY Margaret died at age 99 on December 11, 1975 in Cambridge, Washington County, New York. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango, Madison County, New York (east of Syracuse; birthplace of L. Frank Baum, author of The Wizard of Oz). Social Security Death Index Only two records appear in the SSDI for "Margaret Greminger." One of these records matches the correct date of death, December 1975. The "last residence" of Cambridge, Washington, NY also matches the known residence of Margaret and Albert Greminger.
