Albert Nicholas Greminger, Jr. was born in New York to Albert N. Greminger, Sr. & his wife Margaret Hayden on June 12, 1907. It appears that Albert lived in New York most of his life. In 1910, the family is shown as living in Manhatten. By 1920, the family had moved to Governor's Road in Tuckahoe Village, Westchester County, NY.

Education

In 1929 at about 22 years of age, Albert earned his undergraduate degree (B.S.) from Princeton University. He went on to attend Columbia University where he earned his DDS in 1935. He was licensed as a dentist that same year. According to his student records, during his stay at Columbia he lived at Narrows Road in Bedford Hills, NY.

Marriages

According to his Alumni Federation cars (Columbia University), by December 1936 Albert was engaged to "Miss Molly A. Farries, daughter of Mrs. Richard M. Farries of Eton Hall, Scarsdale, NY. Miss Farries attended the Scarsdale High School and Lasell Seminary." While it remains to be confirmed that Molly & Albert wed, it is clear that Albert married and had a son, Richard F. Greminger with his first wife. He then married Judy C. Coffin, daughter of Ernest and Betsey (Jarvis) Coffin.

World War II

According to records, Albert was involved in World War II. In 1943, he was in the Army and stationed at "Sta Hosp West Point, NY." In 1944, he is shown as being at 166 Gen' Hosp. APO 5934, NYC." His occupation is listed as "Dental Corps" and he is listed as "Capt. Dr. Nicholas Greminger Jr."

Occupation and his Later Years

According to his obituary, Albert "practiced dentistry in New York City until 1952, when he moved to Cambridge (NY) and began a practice while also operating a farm until his retirement." Supporting this, in the 1966 Columbia SDOS Alumni Directory, Albert's address is "general delivery, Cambridge, NY 12816."

His Death

Albert Greminger, Jr. passed away at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, NY on June 29, 1978 leaving his widow, Judy C. Greminger, two sisters, Marguerite and Grace, and his son Richard. Memorial services were held at Cambridge United Presbyterian Church with arrangements being made by the Charles A. Ackley Funeral Home of Cambridge.
