Dublin

The earliest of the letters (dated February 6, 1879) is from Edward’s father, Edward J. Hayden. His letters are addressed “Rear of Belvedere, Strand Road, Sandymount, County Dublin.”

Dublin is a seaside town on the east coast of Ireland along the Irish Sea with the city center located about 10 minutes from the coast. The coastline is referred to as “Sandymount Strand.” This area was made famous in James Joyce's Ulysses. Additionally in 1865 William Butler Yeats, the famed poet, was born in "Georgeville," near Sandymount Castle, Dublin.[1]
