Borough of Aldeburgh in Suffolk.
The Deposant maketh Oath that he never was a house keeper in the Parish of Aldeburgh, nor never served any Parish Office, nor never was found apprentice to any sort of trade or ? whereby to gain a settlement nor never was he a hired servant by the year to anybody. This deposant further sayeth that he went on board merchant ships, or sloopes, when he was about 11 or 12 years of age and was always by the month or voyage and some time at and ? of warr and he did belong to the customs house and Smacks and when he was on shore, he always was with his mother Hannah Walker who now lives in Aldeburgh, but belongs to the Parish of Theberton. Where he himself belongs to. As by Certificate from the parish offices of Theberton. Given with his mother & father. And father he sayeth no to.

Borough of Aldeburgh
The examination of Robert Walker Labourer taken before me John Smith, one of the bailiffs of the borough of Aldeburgh, aforesaid.
The deposant made Oath that he lived a yearly servant with Mr Robert Sawing a farmer of Darsham in the said County of Suffolk aforesaid. He was paid by Mr Smith at 7 pounds and 15 shillings for a year servitude as a husbandman commencing Michelmas 1743 and ended Michelmas 1744 and received the sum of 7 pounds and 15 shillings wages for a year's service and he further sayeth he never worked anywhere since but by the week.

This deposant sayeth he was born Bungay.
