Barney Lawson McAfee was born 09 March 1888 in Texas. He was the son of John Miller McAfee and Sarah Jane Crowder. Barney married Cynthia Ann "Anna" Thurman 24 December 1906 in Hopkins County, Texas (Vol 12, p 329). She was the daughter of Elisha A. Thurman and Fannie Helena Derryberry. Anna was born 25 December 1882 in Cooper, Delta County, Texas.

- Ima Faye McAfee was born 17 January 1908 in Hopkins County, Texas.
- Willie Lou McAfee was born 26 September 1909 in Hopkins County, Texas.
- Baby McAfee, born and died 1920 in Hopkins County, Texas, buried in GreenPond Cemetery, disinterred, and moved to Restlawn Memorial Park, Hopkins County, Texas
Cynthia Ann "Anna" Thurman McAfee died 04 June 1933 in Precinct 3, Hopkins County, Texas. Her death Record (Vol: 1A, page: 420) has the undertaker listed as W. G. Murray; her father as Elisha Thurman; her mother as Lena Dewberry. Anna was buried 8 June 1933 in Greenpond Cemetery, Hopkins County, Texas.
Barney Lawson McAfee died 03 December 1933 in Hopkins County, Texas. He was buried 5 December 1933 in GreenPond Cemetery, Hopkins County, Texas (Vol: 1A, page: 427)
Anna and Barney McAfee were buried in GreenPond Cemetery, disinterred several years later, and their bodies moved to Restlawn Memorial Park, Hopkins County, Texas
