Henry Orcutt, son of Orrial Curtis and Nancy (Clark) Orcutt. He was born on
October 12, 1829, in Kingston, Luzerne Co., PA, and died on November 8, 1898, in
Marion, Marion Co., KS. LOIS died on December 24, 1910, in Hobart, Kiowa Co.,
OK. They are both buried in the Highland Cem. in Marion, Marion Co.,
KS.
(They
were divorced on June 23, 1867, then later remarried (Date Unknown). LOIS filed
for divorce on the (possible) grounds of desertion. The reason for the desertion
is that William Henry went West to the Gold Fields and was gone between 7 -12
years. However, what LOIS didn't know was that William had been captured by
Indians and taken to Canada and held prisoner. When he managed to escape he came
back to PA, found LOIS and the family, talked her into remarrying him and then
moved the family to Iowa where they had 3 more children.)
