- Thrift surname Message Board at Rootsweb /Ancestry.com. I much prefer the format of the Genforums (below), but the Rootsweb Message Boards have the great advantage that messages posted there are automatically forwarded to the corresponding Surname Email lists, where some of the most active researchers will see it immediately.

- The new home of the old "Clan Thrift" website started by Alley Thrift Blackford. NOTE: the Clan Thrift website is old, not being revised, and does contain many errors. Before relying on info from the Clan Thrift site, check for updated info here!
- A History Of My Thrift Ancestors. Excellent documentation of the Frith /Thrifts of the Northern Neck of Virginia, USA (although there does seem to be a couple of errors). This should be a model for other studies. From the Clan Thrift website. (Tress had another document tracing the specific line of Charles Thrift, which I hope to get hold of and post someday.)
- From James Towne 1607 to NC 1997 by Michael Thrift. From the Clan Thrift website. Very useful for historical background in the colonies. Traces one line of Thrifts into North Carolina, USA, from the Northern Neck Thrifts (and omits related lines). Contains notable errors. It asserts that Isham Thrift is son of Nathaniel Thrift of Northampton Co NC, but this is almost certainly INCORRECT. There appear to be other questionable assertions as well, so use with caution.
- John Curtis Revolutionary War pension application. Caution, this is a 23 Mb pdf file, so don't open unless you know it's what you want. This contains references to Drewry Thrift of Dinwiddie Co, VA, referring to him as a cousin of John Curtis, and stating that Drewry & Isham Thrift are brothers. Some details are here and more is here, including a summary of the pdf file.
- A handy Google.com search for "Thrift" without "shop" "shops "store" etc. Click the link then add your search term (and a space) in front of "+thrift", or replace "+thrift" with your phrase in quotation marks. You can also replace ".com" with ".co.uk" etc. This link can be saved as a bookmark or favorite, if you find it helpful.
- List of 'preferred' Tucker family trees. (I am hosting this page as a resource for Tuckers. Several Thrifts and Tuckers intermarried in Dinwiddie Co, VA and Northampton Co, NC.)
