Sarah was born at
Indiana on 24 March 1803. She was the daughter of
John W. Royce. She married
William E. Horner on 27 May 1819. Sarah was probably a free white female, age 16 and under 26, in
William E. Horner's household, on the 1820 Census at
Washington Co., Indiana. Sarah was listed as a household member living with
William E. Horner on the 1850 Census at
Jackson Twp., Washington Co., Indiana. Sarah died on 19 August 1866 at
Fredericksburg, Washington Co., Indiana, at age 63. Her body was interred in August 1866 at
Posey Twp., Washington Co., Indiana. Sarah and her husband, William Horner, are buried on their farm, just below Horners Chapel and back of the home of Mrs. Mary Martin Kay and in 1969 the graves were in ill repair. This land once belonged to Sarah's father John W. Royse.. She left a will on 11 February 1871; Suzanne's Will was dated 11 Feb 1871 proved 27 Dec 1872 "my children" mentioned but none named except William McKendrec Horner who was appointed executor Witnesses: John Spigler and William Durnil.
