I am looking at this site and I think that i must be related to
quite a few Thorns out there...
I have two seperate Thorn relatives, but suspect that i will find
that they are connected if I get back far enough.
My first major interest is in Elizabeth Ellen Thorne born 1894 in
Watford, Hertfordshire, the daughter of George Thorne and Ada
Simmonds both of Bucks. Elizabeth Ellen married Robert Arthur
Burnell. These are my great grand aunt and uncle.
The second line of enquiry is the marriage of Thomas Shuffill to
Ruth Thorn in Whitchurch, Bucks in 1769. Thomas Shuffill and Ruth
Thorn are my 6 x great grandparents. Although I have traced the
shuffills back further than this I have not got back any further on
the Thorn Line.

my grandmothers maiden name was thorn. i have very little info
other than her name was lilian with a brother named Kin and possible
her father was somerset thorn, with english heritage,if you have any
ideas where i should start i would greatly appreciate your ideas.

My Great Grandfather was Thomas Thorn born in Chatteris
Cambridgeshire married to Jane Waters born Mepal. They had 8
children Elizabeth, George, Thomas, Barbara, William born in Mepal.
Louisa, Bertha and John Robert all born in Bacup Lancashire. John
Robert Thorne my grandfather married Emily Thornhill and they had 8
children, John, Alice, Emma, Vincent, George, Louisa, Annie and
Thomas Thorne my father

I would be interested to learn more of my family roots in
England. I have some information. My grandfather was Frederic Sanson
Thorn who married Ellen Harvey in 1884. His parents married in 1850
at Parish Church in Upper Chelsea in the County of Middlesex. They
were Frederick Thorn and Deborah Osborn Sanson Thorn. Just beginning
the process.
