Smith.1 He ended military service on 10 November 1865 in Vicksburg, Mississippi.1 He married Francis A. Shew, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Shew and Catherine Masters, on 29 April 1866 in Noble, Branch Co., Michigan.2 Adolphus Vanransler Thompson was Postmaster of Fourth Plain ( His picture was on the front cover of Columbian April 5, 2002) in 1911 in Orchards, Clark Co., Washington. He died on 21 September 1923 in Retsil, Kitsap, Washington, at age 80.3
