Information on New OrleansNew Orleans was one of the destinations for immigrant ships leaving Bremerhaven. Eventually orginizations were set up in New Orleans to help the German arrivals. Some immigrants stayed in New Orleans or set up cities in Louisiana. Others traveled up the Mississippi River to destinations like St. Louis, Missouri.
