Location: 3519 N. Fourteenth St. at Mallinckrodt in St. Louis (city), MO
near the Salisbury exit of I-70

Church buildings: first one, a one-story stone structure, was built in 1849 on the site of the present rectory, second one built in 1859 but cleared away in 1890, third (present) one built in 1898 in French Gothic revival style using limestone. It is 155 feet long and 90 feet wide. The twin spires rise 215 feet. The tornado of 1927 did damage to the upper choir, apse, and the tower-dome over the crossing. The latter was never replaced.

The first school was built in 1848 adjacent to where the first church was built and was a two-story building. In 1859 a girls' school and convent was built. A rectory was built in 1909. A boys' school was built in 1918. In 1972 a new school for boys was built with three floors.

Pictures taken by Erven Thoma in the early summer of 2005 are shown below.

From the beginning the parish served German immigrants and their immediate descendants living in the little community of Bremen which was later absorbed into St. Louis. Many families from the area of Clarholz, Westphalia, Germany came to the area. The Vossler family was one of those from the N. Rhineland. Holy Trinity has been the mother church of four parishes. Priests at the church included Theodore Laurensen (1849), Joseph Blaarer (1849-50), John Anselm (1850-56), Caspar Doeddner (1856), Frederick Brinkhof (1856-87, and Joseph Schroeder (1887-1907). Sacramental records for the church have been copied to microfilm by the Family History Library (nos. 1888305, 1888306, and 1888307).

There may have been a cemetery near the church at one time. Theresia Vossler (née Hecker) (-5G) was buried in Holy Trinity Cemetery in March 1861 at the age of 72. Theresia was the eldest on the Vosslers who immigrated on 01 May 1854.

Our maternal uncle, Winfield Thake (-1G) used to practice the organ at Holy Trinity Church.
