A company of cavalry is being raised in the North West for the war. The following persons are engaged in the enterprise: C.W. Skinner, West Unity; O.G. Doughton, Pulaski; Wm. Maxwell, Waterloo, Inn; and S.S. Hansey, Fulton County. In case of long marches we should prefer cavalry. But in a fight we should prefer infantry-it is not so far to fall when one's shot. WILLIAMS COUNTY LEADER August 22, 1861. The Cavalry Company being raised in this section is about full. To persons who wish to go into that service an excellent opportunity is offered. The men raising the Company are of the right stamp. WILLIAMS COUNTY LEADER September 5, 1861. We are requested to say, that the members of the Cavalry Company raised in this county, who are now in the county and vicinity, will leave West Unity on Saturday next for Monroeville.
