Obituary someone abstracted and placed online:
Aged Mother Called - After a Long and Useful Life Mrs. Catherine Hasenmyer
Passes Away - Death in its ceaseless march has again visited this community and
taken from among us a loving mother and a Christian neighbor and friend. After
an illness of about a year, Mrs. Catherine Hasenmeyer departed from this life
last Monday morning, April 24th, 1905 at two o'clock a.m., of general debility,
aged sixty-six years, ten months and twenty-six days. Catherine Freshley was
born in Wyttenberg, Germany, May 28th, 1838, and was united in marriage to
Charles E. Hasenmyer Jan 31st. 1856. To this union was born ten children, two of
whom, John and Rosa, together with the father, have preceded the mother to the
higher life. The remaining children are Louis, Samuel and Charles Hasenmyer,
Mrs. Mary Kinney, Mrs. Carrie Haaff and Mrs. Emma Kinney, of this county, and
Mrs. Kate Hoch and Mrs. Annie Levi of Lincoln, Ill. The bereaved ones have the
sympathy of the entire community. May they ever remember that "Earth hath no
sorrow Heaven cannot heal," and that the mother has only gone on before them
perhaps only a few years into the blissful life, where those, like her, who have
lived a Christian life here, find peace, harmony and contentment for all
eternity. Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at the Zoar church,
four miles south-west of town, where the deceased was a member, by Rev. M. C.
Patterson, of this place, and Rev. Hart, of Newtonville, after which the remains
were interred in the cemetery there. Note: The spelling of Hasenmyer and
Hasenmeyer were both used in this obituary. unknown Rockport county newspaper
