| Burr on Ship to Iraq
Burr worked in the oilfields before he met and married Bona. When he went to Iraq it was an opportunity for the couple to earn money for a home. Shirley Irene was a baby. He lost his right hand in Iraq in a hunting accident. |

| Working in the Oilfield in California
After he lost his hand - he was still given work in the oilfield, but he considered it "old man's" work. He worked and earned an Engineer licence, but then he lost most of his eyesight and was declared legally blind. This all happened while he was yet in his early 30's. |
