REMARKABLE DISCOVERY AT NOTTING HILL

At West London Police Court yesterday, Olive Hocken thirty-two, described as an artist, of Campden-hill-gardens, Notting Hill, was brought before Mr. Fordham, on a warrant charging her with conspiring, combining, confederating, and agreeing on February 26, with other persons unknown, unlawfully and maliciously to set fire to a certain building, viz., a pavilion at Roehampton. The defendant seemed to regard the proceedings with equanimity, and smiled at certain portions of the evidence. The arrest, it was stated, was regarded by the authorities as of importance, by reason of the fact that, at the studio of which the defendant was said to be the occupier there was found a perfect arsenal of implements of destruction, including bottles of corrosive fluid, clippers for cutting telegraph wires, fire lighters, hammers, flints, tools of all description, in addition to a number of false motor-car identification plates, some miniature golf links flags, etc. All the articles thus seized were brought to the Court, and were displayed in a room at the rear of the building.
