The following found on page 5 in "The First Book of The Marriage, Baptismal, and Burial Registers , of Ecclesfield Parish Church 1558 to 1619"

"Richard Adamson was of Haldworth, in the chapelry of Bradfield; he was son of John, son of John, son of Richard Adamson, second son of Adam Allynson, of Haldworth who was dead in 1404. This is good instance of a surname derived from a christian name, In the Court Rolls occurs this entry 1404, July 27, John Adamson, son and heir of Adam Allynson, deceased, seeks to be admitted to 1 messuage and garden and 1/2 toft in Haldworth, within the the soke of Bradfield. Here we have John, son of Adam, or John Adamson, and Adam, son of Allyn, or Adam Allynson. Mary Adamson, daughter of Edward Adamson, baptized 28 May, 1688, married 8 August, 1687 Edward Kenyon, and had issue Rev. Adamson Kenyon, of Wickersly, and a daughter, Rachel Kenyon, born 9th October and baptized 15th October, 1702, who married Francis Parker, of Rivelin Lodge*, and had issue Kenyon Parker, attorney of Sheffield..." *The Francis Parker of Rivelin died 1707. Francis Parker father of Kenyon was baptized 1697 at Dronfield, Derbyshire.
