ADOPTION...to take as one's own

As you will see....that's not all there is to it.

I AM IN SEARCH OF MY HALF SISTER; MOST RECENT "POSSIBLE" INFORMATION: I have found a "FEMALE THOMPSON" listed on the New York Birth Index. Born 6/2/43 in Kings County, New York. I think this is a distinct possibility. Birth Certificate #23764. However, since only living persons or their guardian can request their own birth certificate, and I have no first name, I have no way of verifying if this is the person I am looking for.

ARE YOU ALLOWED TO HAVE YOUR OWN TRUE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?

ADOPTEES AREN'T!!!!

IF YOU HAVE A NEED OR DESIRE TO SEARCH FOR BIRTH FAMILY OR AN ADOPTEE:

Those searching are often called members of the "TRIAD"...but there are more people involved than adoptees, adoptive parents or birth parents. Whole families and sometimes extended families can be affected by adoption.

The single most important thing you can do when you begin your search is to register here: ISRR (International Soundex Reunion Registry)
