Dec 17, 1884 - Education Dept - I am directed to inform you that it will be necessary either to shew that you are 60 years of age or submit proof of the fact of your being disabled for further service as a Public Schoool teacher, before an applicaiton for aid from the Superintendent Teacher fund can be considered and such evidence would require to be submitted within one year after ceasing to teach. Should a longer period elapse your case would still be duly considered but it would depend entirely on the evidence then submitted whether your aplication would be accepted or not. Your arrears at the rate of $5 for every year of serve as a Public or High School teacher will now be accepted and may be forwarded the Secretary of the Education Dept. Mrs C E Bush Tp Kingston Collins Bay.

Application in case of disablility under 60 - That she is now 46 years of age, born 17th June 1836 in Ontario belongs to the English Church, commenced teaching a common school 1851 on Wolfe Island. Has a 3rd Class, 2nd class and 1st class under the old Act and 3rd Class ? dated Dec 31, 1880.

Medical Certificate for Mrs CE Busch - I William H Henderson MD MRes Eng... 24 Aug 1887 at Kingston disablity as follows A carbuncle? situated upon the back of the neck. This is caused by a debilitated state of her system and will be aggravated by teaching and a cure retarded. She is altogether too weak to resume her duties as a teacher. I think that a good rest from the fatigue of teaching and absence for the comencement of the school room are essential to her recovery. dated Sept 9, 1887.

Medical certificate Mrs CE Busch - I Albert F McVety Medical Practioner... disablity is as follows - A Nervous debility covering the usual symptions of prosbation?, iritability wich would and does entirly render her service as teacher practically injurious to herself and derimental to her power of governing her pupils.
Her nervous system is so shattered that a ? cure is impossible and in my opinion she will never be in a fit condition to resume teaching. Dec 2, 1889.

I was very much disapponted on receiving your last reply for I did not expect such a reply and more I have had to give up my school although they very kindly waited until I informed them that I was not strong enough for the school room, in fact I have not been able for honest work in the school room any part of this year of which my present illness is a proof. I think if I could rest from teaching for a time without anxiety of mind (which I cannot do unless I am allowed what teachers who are nearly worn out in the work are entitled to) I could then begin work again with renewed strength both of body and mind. I still feel myself unfit for work therefore I feel am entitled to what the law allows such as I am at present. Hoping to hear from you before Saturday I am Yours respectfully CE Busch To the Secretary Ed Toronto.
