1876 school moved to the east half of the lot (Con 5, Lot 8)
Was situated in con.5 lot 8 then moved across the road to con.5 lot 7
Closed: 1953
At present: Still standing??

From Women’s Institute- Theresa Broeders:
The School was built in 1840 on west half of lot 8, cocession 5,north of the base line.
Discussed for 6 or 7 years but the vote was always defeated by the west-end voters until 1875, when east-end voters were in the majority[ summer of 1876 was moved to east half of lot 7 in the 5th con.
The first stove was a box stove which burned cordwood 3ft. long ; now has a coal heater[ 1937].

First Trustees: George Milligan, Mr. McCoy, Mr. Agnew, Mr. John Smeaton, Mr. Farthing. [1841]
Next Trustees: Daniel Cook, James Horne, & Dammon Spinning [ 1876]
Other trustees since the move: Bracedon Orr, Allum, Richard Moore, Henderson Horne, George Furner, Robert Tarrent, John Abbot, Nelson Diane, & Hugh Horne.
Later trustees: Jas. Mercer, Nelson Allum, John Tarrent, Anson Thomson, & Henry Fargo.
Trustees now[1937] Henry Fargo, Richard Russell, & Lester McDonnell.

January 1, 1949 - joined in a school area - trustees: Herb Armstrong, Clarence Woodman, Allen Keyes,Mr. W.P. Joslin, & Jack Halliday. 1950 - trustees : Mr. A. Keyes, J. Halliday, Herb Armstrong, Mr.A.P. Joslin, Mr. C. Woodman, & Dr. Milk.


Marysville Public School, at Victoria Street and Cross St. was built in 1953 replacing S.S.#4 and housing all the country school students.

1949 - R.N. Mrs. Scales inspected once a month & also taught music weekly
1951 - Miss Robison resigned & Ken Keyes became the teacher.
1952 - Mrs. Scales held a music recital.
1953 - teachers: Miss May and Lottie Sliver.
