1858 Roman Catholic Separate School # 1 listed on Annual report of local Superintendent

School log built 1855 freehold – see below for information contained on report.

The School library catalogues and pamphlets on School Architecture have been distributed, but as yet without any effects. The chief aim at the present seems to be to keep the schools open the whole year and employ better teachers if they succeed in this last object the teachers influence may probably excite a wish to procure the necessary maps and apparatus for proper education, good school houses and libraries. I regret to say there are now two Separate RC Schools on the Island.

1859 report says #11 School made RC Separate School No 2

1860 lists Two RC schools numbered #1 and #2 – School paid $25.50 for repairs.

1861 eight schools were free and 6 partly free of the 14 common schools open.  Section  # 9 had a Protestant separate school and # 9 and 11 had Roman Catholic Separate Schools

# 9 RC has been assumed to be the former # 1 RC school

1862 school value $200

1867 spent $282 for new school site and $20 on maps. School frame freehold valued at $600

1870 School frame freehold valued $800.
