Greeting from the Webmaster
Hello everyone!
Happy December everyone! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year etc etc!
I hope everyone is enjoying getting ready for the holidays, we've all our presents bought and wrapped and our tree up, though not too many decorations as my 2 little boys like to tear them down! This should be a fun xmas for us, as my oldest boy is now 3 1/2 and my youngest 21 mos. (Time sure flies!)
Unfortunetly as some have heard I've been sick a lot this month with flues and colds, as have my boys, so I've not been online as much, please be patient in my responding to emails!
Also please note we'll be away a lot the end of the month, and I'm not sure how often I'll be able to get online dealing with all of those xmas dinners!
Thankfully there have been no further problems with the site technically!
A Few Notes...
NEW EMAIL
Please note that TheIslands@keepconnected.com email account closed in november. Please use the NEW email address TheIslandsWeb@hotmail.com one good thing is that is has 25MB of space so you can submit more without my mailbox filling up!
Search
Please don't forget that you can search THIS SITE using the Freefind search engine at the top left. Unfortunetly there is no soundex search so be sure to try various name spellings. The transcriptions on this site are as accurate as possible in spelling, and we all know how terrible some of our ancestors, and those who wrote down records, were in the past! Best of luck!
Volunteer:
If you would like to transcribe any of the 1911 census in full for the site please let me know. Automated genealogy is only transcribing select headings.
Still looking...
I'm looking for someone to complete the Wolfe Island 1861 census. Chris Morrell (who passed away suddenly in march) had completed and submited Ward 1. It is on the site. If you would be interested in finishing the census please contact me.
This site now has over 845 pages up from 835 pages in Nov.
This Newsletter has 158 subscribers, up from 144 in July.

Focus On...
The Holiday Season
Well it's that time of year again! The time of giving and receiving and being with those you love the most (hopefully!)
I hope you all remember to take the time to visit or call those older relatives still living, grandparents, great grandparents, Aunts and Uncles and great aunts and uncles too! The wonderful thing about the majority of our older family members is that they like to talk about the 'old days' and show photos and other memorbilia (unless you get that exception-the aunt who hides everything and won't open her door or answer your calls!)
Should you make a visit be sure to bring a copy of some of your info, even print out a basic tree for the family that applies. Leave this with your relative, they'll be glad you thought of them and will probably look at it more than you think. Be sure to put your name, phone number, email and snail mail address on it as well, so they will remember where they got it and can contact you easily, or if they make a copy to give someone else, that person can get in touch with you.
All and all, I hope you all have a great holiday season and hope a few loose ends appear in your stocking!
Jen
Additions still welcome! Please do feel free to send in your submissions over the Holidays! I'll get to them as soon as possible!
