World War 1 photo of Samuel Reid, son of David Reid and Mary Finnigan. He was born August 13.1895 on Amherst Island. Samuel was a young lad of 22 years when he was drafted for Military Service in 1917.He was Called Up on May7,1918.
Samuel was the last Reid descendant to live in the old "Reid" home on Concession 11, Lot 57.
Samuel died in 1985 and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery. Submitted by Maureen Deacon

Son of Julian Bruce and Mary Ann Kiell. 1896-1962.
Note:He was seriously wounded 9 April 1917 on the first day of the Battle of Vimy Ridge in France. It took him two days to get to the hospital at Boulogne. He was discharged from the Army due to his injuries 14 May 1918.
