Daniel Cook (center) and Family
Daniel Cook (1820-1899) who was a Wolfe Island resident and
is buried in Alexandria Point Cemetery. Daniel Cook was the son
of Azel Cook (Senior) (1791-1871) and wife Elizabeth Lobdell
(1796-1888) both in the same cemetery. Daniel married Hannah C.
Abbott (1835-1885) in 1862. Daniel was a carpenter.
Daniel is the older gentleman in the photo (center) and on
the back of the photo it reads: children - Elizabeth married Will Marlowe, Helen, Edward,
William, John married Lillian Hodges, Burwell & Anne Volume.
(NOTE: From Russ Wallers 19th century families children listed as:
Elizabeth Harriet, William A., Albert Edward, John W., Hugh A.,
Barbara Helena, James Burwell and Joseph. Marriages above also listed
plus Barbara Helena to William J. Abel.
The two men and women are not specifically identified. Photo taken before 1899

Daniel Cook (1820-1899)
The photo was in a 2.75"x2" wooden box with velvet type
lining on one side. The photo was on glass (daguerre-o-type)
possibly. I would guess Daniel would be approx. 60 years
old which would date the photo approx. 1880.

(Hodges) with children Bill and Margaret. Date of photo 1906.
John Cook was the son of Daniel Cook (1820-1899) and
Hannah C. Abbott (1835-1889)

Harriet Caldwell Cook
This photo (on glass in a wooden box type frame with velvet)
of my great grandmother Harriet Caldwell Cook (1837- )
who married Thomas H. Abbott (1838- ) marriage date was
-January 12, 1869, Wolfe Island. Harriet was the sister of
Daniel Cook (1820-1899). Harriet and Thomas moved with their
son Azel and his family to Mountain Grove , Ontario. Harriet
and Thomas died there and were laid to rest in the Mountain Grove
Cemetery.
