Family of John & Margaret Holliday
Front row- Eliza , Charlotte, Mary
Back row- Richard, Henry, Charles
The dates on the John Holliday family : Eliza 1853-1892; Charlotte 1855-1941; Mary 1857-1910;
Richard 1865-1952 ( they also had a Richard B:1859 that D: in 1859 ) Henry 1863-1916 & Charles 1860 -1938 .
They look to be middle teens to early 20's I would say with Charles being married in 1884 at 24 he looks
around 18 or 19 probably about 1877 to 1879 give or take a year. This is the Eliza that died at 39,of
diphtheria. After her burial,for a period of two to three months,one or another of her brothers sat by
the grave,with a loaded shotgun,to prevent it from being robbed. This was a common practice during
this period,the bodies being sold to medical students for anatomical studies in Kingston.. The Mary
in the pic. you already have one of on the site now.
