Sarah Susannah Tugwell

Sarah Susannah Tugwell b 16 May, 1845, died 2 September 1915
Sarah was the daughter of Gideon Tugwell (b1812 in Glynde, Suffolk, England) and his wife, Hannah Ashdown (Ashton) b 10 September, 1812 in Kent, England (died Amherst Island on 24 April, 1863).
This photo of Sarah Susannah was taken prior to September 1915. The photographer was in business in Picton from 1888-1929. Sarah Susannah married John Henry Strawbridge in Belleville on 8 December 1870. Witnesses to the marriage were Susannah's sister Hannah Tugwell b 1838 in Glynde, Sussex, and Hannah's husband, Henry Bristow b 1844 in England.

Sandy Askin and wife Elizabeth Strain

Alexander (Sandy) Askin was born Jan. 16, 1833, In Belfast, Ireland, and died June 26, 1917, in Chatham, Ont. Elizabeth (Eliza) Strain was born April 27, 1836 in Amherst Island, Ont.., and died Sept. 4, 1905, in Dover Twp., Kent, County, Ont. They were married on Amherst Island before 1860 and moved to Dover Twp, Kent County, Ont.about 1861. Sandy was a sailor on the Great Lakes before settling down to farm. They were buried in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, Ont.

Pentland family
Seated on either end are Jane and Alex. In between are Alexander Berry Gladwin Pentland, Mary (May) and Bertha (Bert).
Mary married Frank Johnston who had a clothing store in Oshawa. They had 2 children, Helen & Murray.
Bertha Pentland Anderson daughter of late Alexander Pentland of Dungannon m. 1895 J.G. Anderson (ex-MPP)d. Jun 1 1924 at residence in Lucknow.
Alex B.G. married Ada Barbara Augustine in 1903. Jane, Alex' 3rd wife, was the widow of Henry Bickle. Her maiden name was Berry. (Her mother was a Larkworthy).
