This genealogy and history web site is devoted to any and all
types of information concerning Wolfe Island, Howe Island,
Garden Island, Simcoe Island and Amherst Island.
This site is a repository of information on these islands.
This site had been closed since 2008.
But was reopened in Sept of 2012. Jen Wylie no longer has the time it takes to
keep the site updated so she asked me if I would take it over until she is able to work on it again.
My name is Thelma Moye & I will add some information about me at a later date.
Please feel free to use the information here for your personal research.
My apologizes for any links which no longer work, or any errors please let me know if you find any & I will try to correct them.

Notes from the Webmaster:
March 23, 2016...Rootsweb was down for a few weeks as it was having problems with it's server. When it came back up I had lost everything I added from June of 2015 til now. I hope to be able to recover some of it from email's I saved. if you see something you had sent in to be added that is no longer here please let me know. It will take some time
May 9,2016...I had to add a new visiter's counter. The old one was deleted when Rootsweb went down. I have no idea how many visiter's we had in the past but it was thousands. I have updated some emails that were sent me if your email has changed & the old one is still on site I will add your new one if you let me know. I also see the guest book was deleted if you signed it in the past please resign a new one when I can add one. Will try to get one on site today if I can. I had so many with a lot of information, what a shame they were lost..
UPDATES FROM PREVIOUS YEARS
Look for our page on Facebook. Also there are a few other pages on Facebook about Wolfe Island.
I am happy to announce that the Frontenac County Schools Museum is now up and running once more.
The museum is now located in Barriefield just east of Kingston, north of Highway 2 (on the opposite side of Highway 2 is Old Fort Henry) at 414 Regent Street.
There are also new hours. July and August: Tuesday to Friday 9am – 4pm, and Saturday 11am – 3pm. During the rest or the year September – June: Monday and Wednesday 9am -12pm. or by appointment.
Phone Number: 613-544-9113. There is also information on the new web site which is www.fcsmuseum.com.
Please don't forget that you can search THIS SITE using the Freefind search engine at the top left. Unfortunetly there is no soundex search so be sure to try various name spellings. The transcriptions on this site are as accurate as possible in spelling, and we all know how terrible some of our ancestors, and those who wrote down records, were in the past! Best of luck!

I hated to discontinue the newsletter but I now maintain this site and add new items as I receive them. Sometimes months go by without new items. If you check the update section above you will find what I have recently added. The old newsletters are still on site.
Newsletters Archived on site!
The original counter was deleted when the web site was down so we have to start over. I have no idea how many visiters we had from Jan 2000 to May 2016 but it was in the thousands. Thank you for visiting
