Amherst Island, C.W.—A village situated opposite the North shore of Lake Ontario, on an Island bearing the same name in the County of Addington. Distant from Bath 5 miles, and from Kinston 12 miles. Steamboat fare to Kignston 25c. Mail semi-weekly. Population about 100. There is a note + next to name of island “Also called Jentir Wharf”
