Online Family Tree ProjectMay 24 2007 (Note-This pages updates are not always related to the Tree updates) GOAL: 1) To Create a databases of all the island families-with sources. You can help by submitting your family information... read on... In Progress28,585 people as of Aug 2008!!PLEASE NOTE THE TREE HAS A NEW ADDRESS! View the Wolfe, Garden, Amherst and Howe Islands Connected Tree Online!Adopted by Pat McAvoy-Costin. Please Email Pat if you would like to add your family data, or to submit corrections or additions. If documentable, corrections/additions will gladly be accepted and entered on the tree. Please link to, or save as a favorite, this page or The Islands main page instead of the gencircles tree itself as occasionally the url changes due to uploading problems. Return to The Islands Main Page for transcriptions and images of source doucments, photos and more. The ISLANDS TREE contains linked families from Wolfe Island, Howe Island, Garden Island, Simcoe Island and Amherst Island. Amazingly, through marriages, there are no breaks in the tree...if you're related to one...you are connected to all. Family files from the descendents of original Islanders continue to arrive. Thank you to all who have contributed their dedicated and time-consuming family research to this project. I can’t thank you enough. Submitters have been credited on the page of the individual they have submitted. PLEASE check back often, as there are frequent updates, additions & continual corrections to family lines. Key for additional searching: Search by letter (see bottom of page), A, B, C, etc., not only by a specific spelling. Searching names on the tree: There are a number of family surnames with spellings that were interchangeable, changed from Fr. to English, mispelled, etc., when entered into original documents. Any person with a "/" surname reflects this "problem." i.e. McDonald/MacDonald/McDonnell; Kiel/Keill/Keill, Gonneau/Gagnon. Also, some names can be represented by more than one spelling. These are shown by (--) i.e. Kane (Cain). Hopefully, this will offer some continuity and ease in searching.
