This genealogy and history web site is devoted to any and all
types of information concerning Wolfe Island, Howe Island,
Garden Island, Simcoe Island and Amherst Island.
This site is a repository of information on these islands.
This site had been closed since 2008.
But was reopened in Sept of 2012. Jen Wylie no longer has the time it takes to
keep the site updated so she asked me if I would take it over until she is able to work on it again.
My name is Thelma Moye & I will add some information about me at a later date.
Please feel free to use the information here for your personal research.

MARCH 9, 2015...Added more information with a picture about Wemp Cairn cemetery on Amherst Island. Also another obit. I will be updating the site for the next few days. If you are on facebook you will find a few good sites about Wolfe Island

March 29, 2015...I fixed a broken link under the census page. Also added an email asking about The Hoover family from Wolfe Island. If you can help with any information on them please let me know. I am also going to set up a page on facebook for the Islands. There are some really good ones on FB now "memories of Wolfe Island" is great they have a public group on FB.If anyone has anything to add here please email me.

April 10, 2015......Made a correction sent to me in an email on the size of Wolf Island. Had it only 1 mile across & it is almost 7. Corrections are always welcome.

April 29, 2015....Made a few correction that was sent to me. If you see anything that needs to be corrected please let me know. I would like to have someone to take over the Island Tree or start a new one. I am not sure the old one is still active, there hasn't been anyone to update it in a long time. If a new one is started it would have to be able to let people add different trees of anyone that would have ties to The Islands. They would not all connect. Let me know if you would like to take over such a project.

May 17, 2015...Added the obit for Audrey Marie (Sudds) Mullin who passed away this past week. If you have any that are not here please send them to me & I will add them.

June 7, 2015...Added a link to a video on U Tube "Ferry Tales Of Wolfe Island" by Capt Brian Johnson.Click on Wolfe Island on the side bar to get to it. Great information i really enjoyed it. Will add some more to here tomorrow.

July 23, 2015...Added a picture to Wolfe Island people # 49.

Oct. 18,2015...Have made a few minor changes since July and today added some more corrections. Wolfe Island people 34 had a photo that was labeled Sarah McGrath Greenwood but was another family member so I added the right picture that was sent in. Also under Howe Island old houses photo's added some new ones. Will try to answer emails faster then I have

ANNOUNCEMENTS

I am happy to announce that the Frontenac County Schools Museum is now up and running once more.
The museum is now located in Barriefield just east of Kingston, north of Highway 2 (on the opposite side of Highway 2 is Old Fort Henry) at 414 Regent Street.
There are also new hours. July and August: Tuesday to Friday 9am � 4pm, and Saturday 11am � 3pm. During the rest or the year September � June: Monday and Wednesday 9am -12pm. or by appointment.

The transcriptions on this site are as accurate as possible in spelling, and we all know how terrible some of our ancestors, and those who wrote down records, were in the past! Best of luck!
