Virginia Gazette, notified of death of father James Thompson.. He married
ANNA GARRIS/GAREESE-BOYD1 August 23, 1856 in Cass County, Illinois. She was
born 1835 in Ireland 1860 Census Cass Cty, IL census lists her birth
Ireland..

Notes for JOHN L. THOMPSON:
What I have not been able to connect and put reason to is if John was born
in Ireland,son of James and Rebecca, who were living in Cass County in 1850
Census, while James may be his father, Rebecca may not have been his mother?

Did John also work for the Railroad and return to Pennsylvannia on occasion
and Anna Garris/Gareese had Richard in Harrisburg, Dauphine County,
Pennsylvania and return to Illinois after Richards birth?
Richard does not show up in the 1860 Cass County or Morgan County Census
records.
Most likely not born yet.
Does John show up with Anna in Illinois after the 1860 Census?No.
Is he the John Thompson that died in 1861 and left will in Morgan Cty,IL?
