| I used to have my whole database
available for free download. It’s amazing how many folks took the whole
thing, added a few names of their own, and then published it as their own.
This kind of bothered me. So, for my own peace of mind and heart, I now
make the database available on CD, for one and all, for only 15 bucks.
Upgrades of the CD are only 10 bucks once someone has purchased the first
one.
Right now (Spring 2002) there are over 104 thousand individuals and almost a half million text records. Most of the information is pretty good. The price is a lot less than Family Tree Maker’s CDs and the information much better than a lot of the crap they sell. The database on the CD is in nine different versions: FTM 8.0, and GEDCOM 4.0 and 5.5 for FTM, FTW, PAF and Roots.
