Welcome

This site is dedicated to the genealogy of the former residents of the island Texel in the Netherlands. If you are interested in the 1500 people who emigrated from Texel between 1850 and 1920, check the emigration section. Half of the emigrants came from the polder Eierland. A short history of the reclamation is available on the Eierland page. Please take also a look at the transcriptions of about 5 % of the marriages between 1813 and 1912.

You might be interested in the genealogy of the family Stark from Oosterend and the genealogy of the family Eelman originally from De Waal. Several members of these families emigrated to the USA. For more information I refer you to my Dutch site about the genealogy and history of Texel, Texelse genealogie.
