This website was created to offer complete surveys of every known cemetery in Cooke County accompanied by many thousands of tombstone photos. Adhering to the standards of the DAR, they were surveyed in the order of burials found and not in the index form so commonly used today. For every stone found with a name in these old county graveyards, there are at least two unknowns so copious notes were also taken as to location which might yield valuable clues. The past year was spent taking thousands more new photographs to add to this website but I have made the sad decision to end my work as the theft of copyrighted material to commercial sites continues. I hope you have enjoyed visiting Texas Trails over the years as much as I have enjoyed hearing from you!
