This cemetery is located in the Sivells Bend area, west of FM 1201 on CR 437.  It is located on the east side of the road near the junction with CR 410.  Previously surveyed in 1978 by Michelle Kneupper and Patti Tucker.  Today, Bearhead is in a very neglected state, its old tombstones engulfed in tall weeds.  This appears to have been a fairly large cemetery with burials dating from about 1878.  Observing the scattered location of the stones, it's assumed there are many lost graves, although a proper survey couldn't be done at this time due to the conditions previously mentioned.   These pictures, done on 7 December 2003, were taken in the late afternoon, on a very cold day and some are not of the best quality but we have attempted to document those stones left standing.  It's hoped that someone will adopt this cemetery and save some of the local history of Cooke County.
