34. William Tarbox3 Wallingford (Unconnected2 Families, Unconnected1 Wallingfords) was born in Kennebunk, York County, Maine 23 May 1817.(319) (Date calculated from age at death. Kennebunk, Maine became a town in 1820 so the town in which he was born was probably actually Wells.) William died 12 October 1897, in Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.(320)

He married Susan F. Varney. No record of their marriage was found in the Mass. vital records indexes from 1841-50 under the surname Tarbox.

Susan was born 19 August 1820, in Kennebunk, York County, Maine. Her birth date has been calculated from her age at death of 66-3-5, and her birth place and parentage are also taken from her death certificate. Susan was the daughter of David Varney and Louisa.

Susan died of kidney inflammation, 24 November 1886, in Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.(321) According to Shackford, William was the son of Benjamin Tarbox. On 1 September 1857 (Shackford just says in 1851(322) ) William Tarbox, his wife, and his two children, all of Lynn, all changed their last name to Wallingford.(323) The reason for this change is unknown at present.

William Tarbox Wallingford and Susan F. Varney had the following children:

child 141 i. Louisa F.4 Wallingford was born in Kennebunk, York County, Maine about 1840/41. She was 31 when she married in September 1862, and her birth record also gives her birthplace and parents' names. She married George C. Blanchard, 14 September 1862, in Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.(324) George was a bookkeeper living in Malden and Louisa was living in Boston when they got married. It was George's second marriage.

George was born about 1830/31, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He was age 31 when he got married in September 1862. His marriage record also gives his birthplace and parents' names. George was the son of Abraham W. Blanchard and Catherine A. Clark.
