He married Mary E.(169) Mary was born about 1842, in Farmington, Strafford County, New Hampshire. (Based on the 1865 Mass. census) They lived in Somersworth, N.H. The widow Mary and their 2-year-old daughter Mary were enumerated in the 1865 Massachusetts State Census, living in Ipswich. Mary was employed as an "Operative".(170)

He may be this Civil War vet: CHARLES A. WALLINGFORD enlisted as a Private in Company "G" 30th Maine Infantry, on November 26, 1863 for 3 years. He was mustered into service on December 28, 1863 in Augusta, Maine. At enlistment he was 30 years old, married, with light complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, a merchant and stood 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was born in Lebanon, Maine and was residing in Great Falls, New Hampshire. He had, had previous service in Company "D" 7th New Hampshire Volunteers. He died of disease on July 21, 1864 in New Orleans LA. He is buried in Grave # 1767 in the National Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.(171)
